The Austrian frequency spectrum regulator (rtr.at) has recently concluded its third auction for 5G frequencies, encompassing both the 26GHz FR2 frequency range and the 3600MHz FR1 frequency spectrum range.

In total, seven blocks of 200MHz were assigned in the 26GHz FR2 range, with each of the three main mobile operators securing specific portions: A1 Telekom Austria acquired 400 MHz, Hutchinson obtained 600 MHz, and Magenta secured 400 MHz.

In addition to the mmWave FR2 spectrum, further FR1 3.5 GHz ranges were auctioned off, albeit on a regional basis.

The allocated spectrum remains usable until December 31, 2039.
