Hong Kong’s Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) has innitially awarded 5G-capable licenses in the 26GHz and 28GHz bands to the four incumbent operators. HKT, China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK), and SmarTone. Each operator secured 200MHz of spectrum, while Hutchison 3 successfully applied for and was awarded a larger 600MHz block.

After initial allocation, OFCA conducted reorganization, making sure that spectrum allocation is continuous and that it is combined with assignment which happened in 2019.

In final setup each operator owns 600 MHz of spectrum in total.
