The Polish Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) conducted an auction for seven frequency reservations in bands below 1 GHz to enhance telecommunications services. The auction attracted four major participants: Orange Poland, Play, T-Mobile Poland, and Polkomtel.
All four companies submitted preliminary offers by January 27, 2025, and were subsequently qualified for the second stage of the auction.
The auction concluded with the following outcomes:
- Orange Poland: Secured 10 MHz in n28 - 700 MHz FDD range
- Play Poland: Acquired 10 MHz in n28 - 700 MHz FDD range
- T-Mobile Poland: 5 MHz in n28 700 MHz FDD range and 5 MHz in n20 800 MHz FDD range
- Polkomtel Poland: Won 5 MHz in n28 700 MHz FDD range
These allocations are expected to significantly enhance mobile network capacity and coverage across Poland, benefiting consumers with improved service quality.
Additional consolidation of 900 MHz layer is also assumed from 01.03.2025
