Poland Updates 1800 MHz Spectrum Reservations Ahead of 2026 Reallocation

Warsaw, October 2025 — The Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), Poland’s national telecommunications regulator, has published an updated overview of nationwide frequency reservations in the 1800 MHz band (1710–1785 MHz uplink and 1805–1880 MHz downlink). The tables detail current allocations valid until 14 February 2026 and new arrangements taking effect from 15 February 2026.

According to UKE, the forthcoming redistribution aims to ensure continuous, interference-free use of spectrum resources while aligning Polish mobile allocations with European harmonization frameworks for 4G LTE and 5G services.

Current Spectrum Allocations (Valid Until 14 February 2026)

The 1800 MHz spectrum is presently utilized by Poland’s four nationwide mobile network operators — Polkomtel, T-Mobile Polska, Orange Polska, and P4 (Play) — under separate frequency reservations covering specific paired uplink and downlink blocks.

Polkomtel sp. z o.o. holds multiple contiguous blocks between 1710.1–1729.9 MHz / 1805.1–1824.9 MHz, as well as segments at the upper end of the band (1777.3–1784.9 MHz / 1872.3–1879.9 MHz).
P4 sp. z o.o. (Play) operates in the 1729.9–1744.9 MHz / 1824.9–1839.9 MHz range.
T-Mobile Polska S.A. occupies several mid-band allocations, including 1744.9–1757.3 MHz / 1839.9–1852.3 MHz and 1770.1–1777.3 MHz / 1865.1–1872.3 MHz, along with narrow guard bands.
Orange Polska S.A. holds paired spectrum between 1759.9–1769.9 MHz / 1854.9–1864.9 MHz.

These allocations remain in effect until 14 February 2026, when new licensing conditions will take over.

Spectrum Distribution Effective 15 February 2026

Following the planned rearrangement and renewal of 1800 MHz reservations, the structure of Poland’s mobile frequency landscape will be refined to improve spectral continuity and operational efficiency.

Polkomtel sp. z o.o. will control the 1710.2–1739.6 MHz / 1805.2–1834.6 MHz segment, securing approximately 29.4 MHz of contiguous paired spectrum.
T-Mobile Polska S.A. will retain adjacent blocks across 1740.0–1759.6 MHz / 1835.0–1854.6 MHz, maintaining a strong mid-band position.
Orange Polska S.A. will operate between 1760.0–1770.0 MHz / 1855.0–1865.0 MHz, aligning its holdings with harmonized 3GPP channel boundaries.
P4 sp. z o.o. (Play) will utilize the upper portion of the band — 1770.0–1785.0 MHz / 1865.0–1880.0 MHz — ensuring symmetrical 15 MHz paired capacity suitable for advanced LTE and 5G deployments.

The regulator confirmed that all new reservations will be effective from 15 February 2026, replacing the current licenses without service disruption.

Regulatory Context and Objectives

UKE emphasized that the reorganization of the 1800 MHz band forms part of a broader national strategy to optimize spectrum use across all mobile frequency ranges — including 700 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3.6 GHz — in preparation for 5G network expansion and future spectrum auctions.

The updated allocations are expected to:

Enhance network efficiency through contiguous spectrum blocks,
Support carrier aggregation and 5G NR deployment,
Improve service quality and coverage consistency for end users, and
Ensure fair competition among Poland’s main operators.
