Serbia has completed a landmark spectrum assignment process aimed at accelerating the rollout of next-generation mobile networks and improving nationwide digital connectivity.

The Serbian telecommunications regulator has finalized a comprehensive multi-band spectrum award covering low-, mid-, and high-frequency ranges. The allocation is designed to support full-scale 5G deployment, balancing wide-area coverage with high-capacity urban performance.

All three licensed mobile network operators participated in the competitive process, generating total auction revenues of EUR 300.1 million. Each operator secured spectrum across all six offered bands and accepted binding obligations to expand coverage in underserved municipalities.

Licence Conditions and Payment Schedule

Licence holders are required to pay 50% of the awarded spectrum fee within 15 days of the auction conclusion. The remaining balance must be settled by 30 June 2026. Formal licence issuance is scheduled for early December.

Strategic Impact on Serbia’s 5G Deployment

By distributing spectrum evenly across operators and linking licences to concrete rollout commitments, the framework promotes sustainable competition and long-term infrastructure investment. The awarded spectrum will support advanced mobile broadband, enterprise connectivity, and future 5G use cases.

This allocation represents a major milestone in Serbia’s 5G roadmap, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in structured and forward-looking spectrum management.
